Dzidefo Amegatsey

Dzidefo Amegatsey’s practice considers the shifting life cycles of materials, using decay and decomposition as entry points to explore time, history, and consumption. His installations, paintings, sculptures, and drawings engage with the urban landscape, reflecting on the textures and transformations of everyday spaces. Through photo transfer, collage, and screen printing, he reconfigures familiar materials, examining their layered meanings.
Amegatsey is a Master of Fine Arts candidate at KNUST and a member of blaxTARLINES KUMASI. In 2023, he was among the first artists selected for the dot.ateliers residency by Amoako Boafo, and in 2024, he received the Baden Württemberg Scholarship to study at the State Academy of Fine Art in Karlsruhe, Germany.
