Na Chainkua Reindorf

Na Chainkua Reindorf (Ghanaian, 1991) is primarily interested in the materiality of fibres, and the forms with which they can be used to create narratives.  Her work resides in the intersection of the cultural and the historical where textiles, commonplace objects such as scraps and threads, and the patterns they merge to create are meaningful, both symbolically and culturally. This is especially true in West Africa where they are treasures, heirlooms, and mediums through which the average person can literally weave their personal and collective narratives. Reindorf has previously participated in Shrine (2019), Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts, Binghamton, NY; Art X Lagos Art Fair (2019), Lagos, Nigeria, and Wanted Design (2018), Terminal Stores, New York, NY.
